DG Adult Swimming - Summer 2023

Calling All Doublegate Swim Team Adults!

Are you interested in swimming at the Doublegate pool this summer? All skill levels are welcome, from people who can barely swim and don't want to swim alone to adults who swam competitively that might be interested in swimming in Atlanta Adult Swim League. Participation in any activity is voluntary- if you want to swim laps, there's no expectation that you'll be entered in any sort of race.

Please respond to this signup genius if you're interested and want to get on email lists for any of the following activities https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508054EA9AB2EA7F49-doublegate

1) If you're interested in participating as a swimmer in adult relays before/during Doublegate home meets on June 8 and June 15 (max 24 participants). You should be able to swim 2 lengths of the pool without stopping.

2) If you just want to swim laps at the pool with other adults, and have someone put together a workout you can follow (or not). For those that participate in the adult relays, we'll have some days dedicated to starts, turns, and lessons on how to not collapse during a race. It's recommended that any adult that wants to do relays also signup for this.

3) If you're interested in swim practice in the evenings with the Medlock Bridge Manatees Adult Swim Team.

4) If you're interested in competing in the Atlanta Adult Swim League https://www.grownupswimming.com/atlanta. Unless there's overwhelming interest, we'll likely join the Medlock Bridge Manatees Adult team. There are meets on June 9, 23, July 21, 28, and August 12 (championships). Anyone that participates in this swim league will need to pay and register with a team and follow team rules.

This is open to any parent of a swimmer on the Doublegate Swim Team, but you should plan on having childcare arranged and we will follow Doublegate Swim at Your Own Risk rules.

Please email Steve Ferguson ([email protected]) with any questions.

Thank you
